Aragón lineage, with a solar house in the town of Ateca (whose name it took), in the province of Zaragoza.


In the Fogueración de Aragón of 1495, the following appear: Joan and Miguel Atecua, residents of Atequa or Ateca; García Gil de Ateca and Joana de Ateca, residents of Calatayud; Domingo de Atequa, a resident of Zaragoza; Anthon de Atequa, a neighbor of Bubierca; But Atequa, a neighbor of Monterde; Rodrigo de Athequa, a neighbor of Pedrola; Domingo de Athequa, a resident of Ruesta, and Pascual de Atequa, a resident of La Almunia de Doña Godina (all in Zaragoza), and Pero de Atequa, a resident of Calamocha (Teruel).


Its branches passed to Daroca (Zaragoza), Barbastro (Huesca), Teruel and Albarracín (Teruel). Diego de Ateca attended the Cortes held in Zaragoza in 1528.


They were Aragonese Knights, Infanzones and Hijodalgos in the Cortes of 1626: Alonso de Ateca, Alvaro Manuel de Ateca and Juan Francisco de Ateca, residents of Ateca.


Johan de Ateca or Atequa was a resident of the city of Segorbe (Castellón) in 1421.


In Vizcaya he had solar houses in the towns of Munguía, being his owner Juan de Ateca, and in Plencia, his owner Pero de Ateca, mentioned in the Fogueración of 1511. Another house was located in the church of Arrázua, in the Merindad de Busturia, documented in 1606, and in the church of Gámiz, of the Merindad de Uribe, in 1638.


Another house was located in the town of Lanz, in the Merindad de Pamplona (Navarra), documented in 1585. They moved to Argentina, the United States and Puerto Rico.
